Microsoft representatives presented a $250,000 technology grant to the Fulfillment Fund following a month-long campaign in which hundreds of Fulfillment Fund supporters cast votes on the Microsoft Store Facebook page.

As part of its commitment to investing in communities and education, Microsoft announced in June its selection of the Fulfillment Fund as one of three Los Angeles charities to receive a major software donation.

Fulfillment Fund CEO Andrea Cockrum accepted the award in front of more than 1,000 spectators at the June 30 opening of the Microsoft Store in Westfield Century City, thanking Microsoft for helping to support education programs that literally change the lives of students and their families.

"For 34 years, the Fulfillment Fund has provided first generation, low-income students in Los Angeles with the support necessary to graduate from high school and go on to college," Cockrum said. "This gift will expand our capacity to help students achieve their dreams."
